GNU Emacs is a very powerful text editor. It is highly extensible and has been around for long time, which means that it has modes for just about any kind of text editing.

For UNIX oriented software developers forced to use Windows in their daily job - like myself - it is a great way to work in a unix-like environment on top of Windows.

On these pages I tell about some of my favourite features in and extensions for Emacs. For example how to install and/or configure them, or just describe a feature that I think is overlooked by too many people.

When I use the name Emacs in these pages, I am referring to the version that I use myself. At the time of writing I am using GNU Emacs version 22.1.1.
